Back-to-School Rolo and Hershey's Kisses Pencil Craft
August 08, 2016
These candy pencils are a fun craft to do with the kids before they head back to the classroom. They're a cute favor for a back-to-school party or a sweet ice breaker for new classmates or for teachers to share with students on the first day of school.
Here are the supplies you'll need:
Step 1: Cut the Materials
- Yellow -- Cut to 4-1/2" x 3-1/2"
- Pink -- Cut to 3-1/2" x 1/2"
- Pink -- Cut a 1" circle (trace the end of the Rolo roll onto the paper to get the correct size circle)
- Metallic/Aluminum Foil -- Cut to 3-1/2" x 3/4" (You can use the wrappers from two Hershey's Kisses taped together if you don't have metallic paper or foil. And that means you'll just have to eat the unwrapped Kisses. Darn!)
Step 2: Wrap the Rolo Roll
- Glue or tape together the yellow, pink strip and foil pieces as shown.
- Glue the pink circle onto one end of the Rolo Roll.
- Wrap the yellow/foil/pink piece around the Rolo roll and glue in place. You may need to trim down the front end a little, depending on how you placed the pink and foil pieces.
Step 3: Add the Pencil Point
- Carefully pull the white paper flag out of the tip of the Hershey's Kiss.
- Glue the flat side of the Kiss onto the non-eraser end of the Rolo roll.
