April Showers Bring Candy Flowers!

May 01, 2018

Greetings, friends! It's Jimmy Sweet Tooth, here to give you another batch of delightfully delicious suggestions for your seasonal snacking. It is officially spring and, although Mother Nature has been testing our patience this time around, the birds are chirping, the sun is (mostly) shining, and warmer weather must be coming sometime soon. I quickly demolished waaaaay too much Easter candy, and I've started thinking about what's up next.

In the Sweet Tooth household, spring signals the beginning of one of our favorite and most rewarding pastimes: gardening! Unfortunately, nobody has figured out how to grow candy just yet (fresh peaches come pretty close, though!) but we can still compete with your local garden center in a few areas. Take a look:

Seeds
Sunbursts Candy Coated Chocolate Covered Sunflower SeedsI tend to be pretty impatient waiting for our little plants to sprout, but with products like Big's Original Salted & Roasted Sunflower Seed Slammer or Sunbursts Candy Coated Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds, there's no waiting required! Enjoy one of nature's simplest snacks without laboring in the hot sun. If you like those, you'll also love Joyva Sesame Crunch Bars, which combine the richness of sesame seeds with another delicious miracle of nature -honey! They're gluten free, too! And though they're not exactly real seeds, Dubble Bubble Seedlings Fruit Shaped Bubble Gum is filled with tiny candy sprinkles that will keep you happy and energized as you plant!

Candy Pebbles Jelly CandyRocks
No, we're not going to tell you to eat real rocks. That's just silly. But we do have some fun rock look-alikes that are great for snacking, decorating, or both! Check out ChocoRocks Chocolate Pebbles to give your "dirt cake" a realistic twist. Or use Candy Pebbles Jelly Candy or Chocolate Beach Pebbles as an edible accent on your candy buffet. All of our "rock" products make great decorating candy for gingerbread houses, candy planters, or even dinosaur or construction themed birthday cakes. Once you get your hands on some, you'll think of a million ways to use them!

All City Candy Book Worms Gummi Worms Treat BagsWorms
Maybe you think of them as creepy-crawlies, but worms can be tremendously beneficial in a home garden, so we'd be remiss if we didn't mention them in an article on garden-themed goodies. We have more than a dozen varieties of gummi worms available to suit your flavor preferences, but some notable standouts are Albanese Mini Sour Neon Gummi Worms, Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers Can O' Worms, and our exclusive Book Worms Gummi Worm Treat Bags.

Awesome Blossoms Gummi Candy at All City CandyFlowers
No garden would be complete without flowers! Well, except a vegetable garden, I guess, but just go with me on this one, ok? We have a lovely assortment of edible "blooms" to dazzle your eyes and your palate. Flower Power Fruit Flavored Pressed Candy has a groovy retro vibe, while Awesome Blossoms Gummi Candy showcases a more contemporary style and flavor assortment. If you're into nature in all forms, Hootencandy Fruit Flower Candy provides a lovely flower-shaped candy in an equally lovely owl tin. And Dove Promises Caramel & Milk Chocolate Flowers have a cheerful golden color inside and out!

Fruits and Vegetables
Runts Candy at All City CandyAnd what could be better than enjoying the hard earned fruits of a summer of laboring in the dirt? Well, enjoying the easily purchased fruits of All City Candy comes to mind! We have a whole farmers' market worth of fruit shaped and flavored candies, including these very realistic Haribo Berries and the less realistic, but just as delicious Haribo Fruit Salad Gummi Candy. Big Slice Watermelon Pops are a yummy taste of summery goodness, and Runts are a collection of your favorite fruits, miniaturized. We even have Jelly Belly Mellocreme Peas & Carrots, so next time you hear your mother's voice reminding you to eat your vegetables, you can comply with enthusiasm!

Ahh, springtime in candy country. Isn't it lovely? I hope I've given you plenty of inspiration for all kinds of springtime treats and helped you cultivate a hearty appetite. And remember, you don't need a green thumb to enjoy the All City Candy "garden shop," just a sweet tooth and an active imagination. Enjoy!
