I and my friend loved these growing up. In the 1990's this company went out of business and someone has decided to buy the name and attempt exploit it. I tried the Sour Lemons which were fairly good but and I FOOLISHLY assumed that these would be the same as before.
They are not the same as the original. Not only is the shape different, which is minor but the taste is not sour and not even palatable. I thought perhaps my roll got dunked in a cleaning solution so I tired another pack with the same taste. I gave a pack to a friend for his opinion and he agreed that these are not what we remember.
The best and closest you can get to the original Regal Crowns is the Jolly Rancher sour cherry.
I can't wait to get these again. I have fond memory of these as a kid in the 1960's and kept buying them until I couldn't get them in the early 1980's or so. Can't wait until they come back into stock to buy a case or two. This was and is my all-time favorite hard candy.
Bought a roll of sour cherry candies and also a can of charms sour balls.
Cherry sours were Great just like I remembered. Sour balls not so much.
